Nickel

GlobeStar holds concessions which cover 60 square kilometers of in the nickel laterite belt of the Dominican Republic which hosts the Falcondo operation of Xstrata Nickel.

GlobeStar’s exploration is most advanced in the Cumpié Hill-Loma Mala area, located at the northern end of its 100% owned nickel laterite concessions and some 10 kilometers south-east of the Falcondo operation. In February, 2008, the company announced mineral resource estimates for Cumpié Hill-Loma Mala comprising Indicated Resources of 3.0 million tonnes grading 1.49% nickel and Inferred Resources of 3.2 million tonnes at 1.5% nickel, at a cut-off grade of 1.0% nickel.

GlobeStar is actively exploring other areas of the nickel laterite belt, much of which has not been explored in detail and remains unmapped. GlobeStar’s mapping and drilling programs have revealed mineralization at Corozal Ridge, 4 kilometers south of Cumpié Hill and less than 2 kilometers from Cerro de Maimón.
