GlobeStar is an environmentally responsible company, committed to the stewardship of all the areas where the company operates.
As concrete support for this philosophy, GlobeStar has signed a number of agreements with parties, as an integral part of doing business in the modern mining sector, confirming and committing to the highest standards of environmental stewardship. Commitments have been made as part of contractual agreements with the governments of Canada, USA, Dominican republic and Quebec, all the juristrictions where the company is operating.
In Quebec, all operations are carried out under the sophisticated and wide-ranging federal and provincial environmental protection laws, which we are pleased to uphold.
At Cerro de Maimón in the Dominican Republic, GlobeStar developed detailed and sophisticated Terms of Reference in partnership with the Dominican Department of Environmental affairs which laid out the plans for items like base line monitoring, community consultation, mine closure plans and operating procedures to the highest international standards. The environmental permitting process is comprehensive, and the GlobeStar team is pleased to demonstrate our commitment and compliance with Dominican law and Best Practices.
In other projects on the island, all exploration activities are carried out to beyond the required national standards, and local consultation is always done by GlobeStar personnel before any site disturbance.
We are proud of our commitment to minimize the impacts of our operations, both to the physical environment and to the communities where we are working. Major contributions to our host communities are jobs, skill development and economic activity to assist the advancement of the local communities.
Don't forget GlobeStar's people live where the company operates. The company wishes to maintain a healthy, high quality and sustainable environment for our employees and their families to live in.
